In previous pieces I have
written for our website I have
given emphasis to RELAXING,
TUNING INTO GOD'S GUIDANCE, AND
TRUSTING THE RESULTS TO WHAT I
HAVE COME TO CALL THE
GOD-PROCESS.
Another subject I have taken
up is my growing compassion for
our humanness. Recently my
cogitations have been focusing on
coping with our own and the
humanness of others, or very
simply just plain coping with
life!
Suddenly this week coping
appeared to me as co-oping with
God and that it would be great to
start a GLOBALIZATION CO-OPING
WITH GOD MOVEMENT. All of us
all over the world, in every
country, in every race, in every
religion need to learn how to
work with the One God in coping
with each other. Immediately you
recognize with me that this
begins in your home and mine!
Here is an affirmation I have
been using since this idea came
to me:
I AM TUNING IN ALL
THE TIME SO IT IS NATURAL FOR
ME TO BE RELAXED, POISED, AND
ABLE TO COPE WITH ALL
SITUATIONS. SO NOW MY COPING
IS CO-OPING WITH GOD!
You and I know for this
idealism to be effective requires
a globalization of how we define
or conceive of God. It seems to
me that a logical beginning is to
agree that all of us are
offsprings of the one and same
God or Creator. Then we need to
dialogue on a global scale to
make it possible for all of us to
realize how we basically have
always meant the same things in
all of our religions and
philosophies.
I have for the most part
lamented having McDonald's in
such places as China, but this is
globalization and possibly helps
to break down the attitude that
our differences are important.
No, it isn't our differences that
are important. Each country wants
to preserve its unique
traditions, but it is beginning
to be revealed that we don't have
to give these up to open
ourselves to other ways. Chinese
restaurants have done pretty well
world-wide!
We have a lot to learn from
each other: South Koreans taught
the world a lesson by humbly,
graciously accepting losing in
the semifinals of the soccer
World Cup. That was good coping!
Was it also co-oping with God? I
believe it was. It was a natural
expression of their belief
system.
One way we can know that we
are making progress in coping
with the people of the world is
when we see and experience how
easy it is to like them!
