For the past month I have been
circling around some ideas that I
have been wanting to develop.
These ideas in general could
come under the heading of "What
is life all about?"
"Your guess is as good as
mine" may not necessarily equate
with "any wild flight may do"
because all of us may be circling
around a human system of core
beliefs that we are in the
process of developing and
understanding.
Our Victoria minister and my
cherished friend and mutual
mentor, David Durksen, and I
agree that anyone who feels the
conviction of eternal life for
the soul is in VERY good
company!
Assuming this and looking for
answers to our basic question, my
guess is that each of us and all
of us are individually and
collectively engaged in
developing consciousness of what
life IS all about, the purpose of
which we can find in the plural
for an inconceivable number of
generations or incarnations.
My feeling is that there is an
"upward, progressive movement of
life", as Ernest Wilson ( whom we
thought of as Dean of Unity
ministers) one time phrased
it.
One reason I am sharing my
guess with you at this time is to
make it clear that I don't think
it is necessary or important for
us, at this stage of human
development, to try to answer the
question prophetically
Philosphically is sufficient.
Qualitatively is of the
essence.
I am completely at peace in
leaving it up to
God/Life/Creator/Creative/ the
Reality of all that is, to reveal
to us progressively as we evolve
more and more purposes, more and
more possibilities of what each
of us can do as participants,
co-creative beings!
What I like about this feeling
is that it gives me the sense of
equal importance for past,
present, and future. Obviously
they are the whole story flowing
through the passage of time. The
chief characteristic is the
generation of consciousness.
Consciousness is what it's all
about!
So we can have our own
feelings and wonderments and
fantasies and hopes - our guesses
- about the future, but, trusting
the God-process, we can live the
moment joyously, dedicating it to
our soul's contribution to this
consciousness flow. It is for our
own benefit and for the benefit
of all souls through all time
in whatever dimension of
God- expression!
