Lifting it up to the soul
level is my way of dealing with
the difficult relationship
experiences we all have from time
to time.
Last month I wrote "Not only
does our God/love consciousness
mean that we behold human beings
as whole and perfect in spirit
with the potential of manifesting
this perfection humanly. It also
means that we love human beings
in their/our present state of
evolution. This is where our love
is challenged and where we are
all learning more every day as we
evolve this spiritual love and
the capacity to express it."
All of us are in the process
of learning to be spiritually
human. When we say, Oh, I'm only
human! we probably are not at all
thinking of ourselves as perfect
spiritually with the capaciiy and
potential to express it in such a
way as to be living in peace and
harmony. We are actually leaving
God and our oneness with God out
of the picture!
Last month I remarked that I
realize most of my life problems
have come as a result of my not
loving myself. Since writing that
I have been seeking to apply my
idea of lifting it up to the soul
level. What I mean by this is
that I realize that, not only
must I take responsibility for
everything I have ever said and
done, I also must recognize that
others must do the same!
What is involved here is the
theory that we live many
incarnations and carry our
consciousness in our soul ready
for further development. The
development we make each time in
consciousness is not a treasure
of our success, popularity, power
over others, etc., but the kind
of treasure Jesus talks about in
Matthew 6:19-21:
"Lay not up for
yourselves treasures upon
earth, where moth and rust
doth corrupt, and where
thieves break through and
steal:/But lay up for
yourselves treasures in heaven
[consciousness], where
neither moth nor rust doth
corrupt, and where thieves do
not break through nor
steal:/For where your treasure
is, there will your heart be
also."
If we work to be loving,
understanding, forgiving,
non-judgmental of others and good
to ourselves at the same time,
leaving it up to each soul to
continue to learn and grow
(including ourself!) then we
don't have to win every battle in
our relationships with others,
but to lift it up to the soul
level means that we actually do
take responsibility for the way
we are dealing with things in our
heart because this is the only
way we are really letting go of
things in the present so that all
the souls involved are entrusted
with the assurance of continuing
to learn how to be spiritually
human!
Along with my not loving
myself in the past (I am doing
much better in the present), I
also have been naive in my
response to things that have gone
on in my human relationships.
Read Matthew 10, and I think you
will understand where I am coming
from in bringing this up. This
chapter is pretty strong and
tough, but I am getting a good
context out of it. When Jesus
tells His disciples to shake the
dust from their feet when they
are not accepted as they endeavor
to minister, I think He is
telling them to lift it to the
soul level. Shake the dust, let
it go and go on! When He tells
them to be "wise as serpents and
harmless [gentle] as
doves," this is the equivalent
possibly with the "tough love" we
hear about in these times. Being
naive is not being strong, so I
think it is important to learn
how not to be weak in our
relationships with others. To do
so does them no good, and it
certainly does not contribute to
our happiness and well-being.
Lifting it up to the soul
level is what I was writing about
last month. It is loving God and
trusting God to work all things
together for good for ourself and
for others as we leave it up to
the sure unfoldment in soul for
each and everyone of us as life
continues - now and in the
eternal future!
This week, as I have been
developing these ideas, a
wonderful sentence came to
me:
LOVE IS THE ARMS OPEN
WIDE EMBRACE OF LIFE.
As you and I learn to love
God, which means we love self,
all others, and every part and
aspect of life, let us see
ourselves with arms open wide,
and hearts open wide, as we
embrace all the souls in our life
and all the life we come in
contact with. Then all things
will work together for good!
