This is a true story that
happened in my life.
I'm sure most of us have had
experiences from time to time in
which we were involved in
difficult situations and some of
those times we were "the
culprit."
Having established that, so I
don't feel that I am a "bad guy",
I'll continue with my confession.
It really was my fault: I blurted
out a statement that offended a
young lady serving me. Here is
the story:
You know how you have felt
when you were the culprit. Well,
I felt pretty miserable, but
immediately received the healing,
loving support from my wife
Beryl. This helped. But I really
needed to move into a better
consciousness, and because this
happened, I have my story.
As I was searching for the
inner peace, this is the prayer
that came through: WE ARE ALL
ENFOLDED IN THE AURA OF GOD'S
LOVING WHOLENESS. The use of the
word "aura" resulted from my
projecting the aura of love over
the place where the event
happened and covering the young
lady, myself, and all the people
connected with the establishment.
It was two days before I went
back to the place and experienced
what I am calling a miracle.
During that period I
vacillated between elation
(because I knew the prayer was
powerful and true and would
produce the desired healing) and
somewhat agonizing feelings when
my projections were more along
the line of thinking I had ruined
what had been a pleasant
relationship for quite a number
of years. I think it is very
important to let you know that
the positive projections greatly
outweighed the other kind! This
is why the miracle happened.
So let's look at some factors
in my story: In the first place a
situation is "ugly" only as long
as we can't reach our connection
with God. In the second place, a
miracle is exactly defined by the
sentence above: when we reach our
God connection, moving beyond the
fears and self-loathing and guilt
of the ego response. (I guess
it's a miracle when we accomplish
this because they don't happen
every day!)
I'm getting ahead of my story
however: when I made my return,
and approached the young lady,
she greeted me with such a loving
expression that I immediately
realized the miracle had
happened. She acknowledged the
part she had played in the way
she reacted to my blunder, which
amazed me because I certainly
didn't feel she had any need for
apology. But her response simply
told me she surely had done her
spiritual work too. God worked
the miracle way beyond my
expectations. The young lady was
healed, and in that wonderful
moment so was I, but my part had
been to stay with the prayer and
to believe it - to let go and let
God for sure!
I had arrived that day with my
written apology and the gift of a
little soft, cuddly bear with a
white hat trimmed in green and
red, but the healing didn't
require this - I had to wait
awhile before giving them to her.
This made the experience more
delicious!
I have used the word
"projection" in this essay.
Psychology uses the term, for
example, to explain how we feel
bad about something and think
others will see us in this light.
Spiritually we may think of
projection in terms of our seeing
others receiving our blessing
(through the power of prayer).
This is part of why the miracle
took place, I believe.
Along with this is the
phenomenon called "telepathy". In
my first years at Unity School
(1937-1943) a metaphysician named
Brown Landone wrote in one of his
books that the word "telepathy"
literally meant "the far feeling
of the soul." This made a
life-long impression on me.
Telepathy has also been called
"thought-transference." So there
is a connection with what I have
written above about spiritual
projection. I was projecting
God's love towards the young lady
and the whole situation. The
young lady was obviously entering
into forgiving, understanding
thoughts and was telepathically
feeling what I was sending her.
What I mean here is that I
believe she definitely was
feeling with her soul. This is my
analysis, of course, which I am
suggesting to you.
When we step out of ego and
connect with God (the universal
Reality that includes each and
all of us), wonderful things can
happen.
One thing did. I know!
