The glorious concept of Unity
might be characterized as
Living Fully in the NOW,
with the consideration of
re-incarnation back to earth on
the back burner, against the
backdrop of the cosmology of
eternal life for individual
souls.
At age 86, I am happy to say
that I am sharpening my focus on
the first part:Living Fully
in the NOW.
More and more it seems to me
now that I want to celebrate our
life on our wonderful planet - to
learn all I can about it and to
open my eyes and ears and mind to
its beauty, its wonder and
mystery.
This is not coming to me as
putting pressure on me or our
human family. It is the exact
opposite. I am thinking in terms
of being fully present in every
moment as one glorious instant of
eternity, appreciating each
moment - the people in it, the
content of it, and the symbolism
of it all at the same time.
Several years ago I
experienced an epiphany: WOW. I
don't have to learn everything
all at once. (I meant in this
incarnation; I had been trying
for perfection.) Now I am
thinking about how delicious it
is to be learning SOMETHING
and of how much more there is
to learn, to see, and enjoy.
My present interpretation of
the meaning of human life on
Earth is that there is enough
meaning and purpose HERE AND
NOW so that we don't need to
focus on some kind of "after" or
"future" life. When we realize
that life here seems always to
lead us onward, there MUST
be a future.
So I imagine there probably
are infinite dimensions in which
our souls will experience various
life environments, but NOW
I am feeling that doing our best
in the HERE AND NOW is
really all we can do anyway, so
let's trust the future to
God!
This paves the way for getting
the most out of and giving the
most into the HERE AND NOW
- a truly glorious concept!
