How could it be otherwise? But
we human beings sometimes lose
sight of this obvious point,
don't we?
How do we know this is true?
We know it innately, intuitively,
because God-Mind is the mind that
knows in us! How do we know that
God-Mind is the mind that thinks
and knows in us? We know it
innately!
Immanuel Kant says this is the
way it is. A succinctly-expressed
explanation of his philosophy
reads, "a doctrine of a priori
knowledge stating that man
experiences the material world
through sense perception, but its
reality is determined by purely
mental forms and categories."
Interesting name, Immanuel. It
means "God with us."
A dictionary definition of a
priori is, "prior to, and thus
independent of, experience;
innate."
So it follows that Kant
concluded what may seem a very
simple, obvious point: we can't
prove the future. Of course not;
proof is in the pudding ! Proof
concerns only the material world.
Or does it?
A section of Malachi 3 reads
like this: "prove me now
herewith, saith the Lord of
hosts, if I will not open you the
windows of heaven, and pour you
out a blessing, that there shall
not be room enough to receive
it." This is God speaking through
a human being who wrote these
words. Where am I going with this
gobbledygook? (I needed the
dictionary on that one too - how
do you spell it?)
This isn't gobbledygook at
all. I simply thought there well
could be persons who come upon
our website wondering how we
people of the religious/spiritual
persuasion can make such
grandiose statements about God -
Reality.
Somehow the universe (God)
manages to inform us about the
Reality we cannot prove
scientifically or mathematically.
We simply know!
The proof of things spiritual
is suggested in the Malachi
quote. The earlier section of the
verse admonishes us to tithe -
and then the proof will come! In
general what this is telling us
is that, when we believe, when we
make the God-connection, and when
we are patient concerning how the
results are worked out, things
happen that seem to be beyond,
and without the necessity of,
causative actions on our part. We
put these ideas into practice,
and the results are the proof.
But we can't prove or even be
aware of the how and the when!
Finally to get at the
application of my title idea: THE
UNIVERSAL REALITY IS THE REALITY
OF THE NOW - you and I are in a
very favorable spot in this human
existence of ours. Let us make
use of our innate wisdom that
tells us the universe, eternity,
and the present deserve our
patient faith. It is certainly
true that everything we want in
life doesn't come into being or
as soon as we would like! But
innately we know that God
(however the universe, life, can
be defined!) is in the process of
creating and sustaining good
things out of a miraculous
universal love. Yes, we do know
that. Practicing it in the face
of whatever seems to cause doubt
is what produces our results!!
