Title: We Can't Damage Our Wholeness, God in Us!  The Principle of Healing

Physicist/philosopher David Bohm gives us a wonderful name for God (the nature of Reality): WHOLENESS.

In his book, Wholeness and the Implicate Order, Bohm concludes that WHOLENESS is the best way to describe the Reality we all have to work with. Wholeness, he says, is implicit (inherent) in the order of Reality.

Making use of the example of the hologram and what even goes beyond it, he speaks of Life in terms of the "holomovement." Wholeness is the God-movement in you and me and all that is! (In the hologram, through a complex procedure, a whole picture is revealed in every tiny part of a photograph. It is used to illustrate Wholeness as undivided.)

He makes it clear, as the Unity teachings do, that Wholeness does not mean "complete." The completeness, the expression and manifestation, is up to us, what we do with Life's quantum possibilities.

This has a wonderful relationship to spiritual healing, one of Unity's foremost interests. As Unity has always asserted, Bohm agrees that Wholeness cannot be damaged. It simply can be neglected, not realized, not acted upon. The term "damaged" is often used in speaking of the effects, the trauma, of the failure to express the principle of Wholeness. The principle of Wholeness, when expressed, reverses and heals the human damage. The principle of Wholeness is the principle of healing!

A familiar statement is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." We need to know that if it is broke, it's fixable!

Intuiting that God is Perfect and that, therefore, we should be or can be perfect, human beings get down on themselves for seeming failures and inadequate performance and behavior. We interpret the Adam and Eve story as saying "stay with the perfection of the Garden or all is lost." The story attempts to teach us not to believe in evil, meaning opposite to good, to health, to Wholeness. We are learning SLOWLY that we are able to deal with what seems to be evil, imperfect, adversial. No matter what, it can be healed.

No apparent damage can do anything to violate our eternal Wholeness!
